My story about planting corn this year was that I was too late in sowing the seeds. Instead of starting to plant them on the second week of June so they could be knee high on or before July 4th, I planted them two weeks after Independence day. We had to borrow the rototiller that my BIL also borrowed from his friend. My husband got to try operating it the first time because it looks heavier for me and I don’t know how to operate it. He tilled the ground eight feet away from the raised garden bed. The newly tilled ground bed was the same measurement as the raised garden bed which is 9×3 feet. I just directly sow the seed wherever in that bed. I sort of measure it in my mind, 3×3 feet for first rows of bell peppers, 3×3 feet for the second rows of corn and another 3×3 feet for bell peppers on the third rows. My goodness. The corn grew very tall that it blocked the bell peppers in the third rows. The bell peppers at that part grew very small as they didn’t get enough sunlight. But the green peppers in the first rows grew bigger and the corn had only five cobs in it. Two of the cobs we’re beautiful while the other three had some malformation.

Mums are still blooming around.
