I remember I my Dad in law used to chase away their cat from sleeping on his pot of shamrocks. He said that plant is so dear to him because my Mother in law gave that to him during a Saint Patrick’s day. I observed the plant and I noticed that it has pretty heart shaped foliage in it. I asked my Mom in law on what is the name of the plant. She said they are shamrocks, a kind of clover, and is a significant symbol in Ireland and all Irish people. She said Dad’s parents are both Irish and that Dad had most of his childhood in Boston, Massachusetts where most Irish people lived. Why the shamrock is a significant and traditional symbol in Ireland and to most Irish, it is because of Saint Patrick who brought lots of miracles in Ireland and the most significant one is the conversion of the pagans. It is inspiring to refresh memories about Saint Patrick during this day and every year he has become very popular.
