When operating a chainsaw, it is important to keep safety first in mind. You need to wear proper attire for the job like long pants and long sleeve. Make sure to wear protection for the eyes, ears and face like eye goggles, ear muff, mask and hard hat. Wearing the proper attire will keep your body from harm especially that sharp chips and dusty particles can fly towards you. It’s a rule of thumb not to operate chainsaw when you’re not in your safety attire. Operating a chain saw can vary on what type you’re using. Most chainsaws are powered by two-stroked engine. Others are powered by water, compressed air and electricity. I read that petrol chainsaws deliver quality performance in cutting trees but be sure to read the manual first to familiarize yourself in operating it. It is also important to plan the direction of the cut when you cut trees. Use both hands and apply steady pressure when operating it.

One most important thing when operating your chainsaw, is to keep the kids away in the area where you’re working. Ask a friend to accompany you when operating it so that when emergency happens someone can help you directly. When in doubt and feeling lack of confidence, contact a professional or a tree surgeon who can teach and show you how to use your chain saw.

And here’s some of my gardening projects at home. Aside from having a flower garden, I also have this  vegetable garden.

• I visualized and draw a raised garden bed in a paper. I decided to have the measurements 9 x 3 feet for an actual raised garden bed.
• My husband ordered the non-treated wood at the hardware. They were pre-cut two of each sizes of 9 feet and 3 feet wood.
• He drilled nails on the edges to create a sturdy rectangular box.
• We ordered bags of Miracle-gro potting mix to fill the raised bed. About 6 large bags.
• Ordered some lettuce, broccoli and cabbage seedlings, and planted them in the raised bed.
• I used LiquaFeed All Purpose Plant Food Advance Starter Kit in feeding my vegetable plants. We were able to harvest vegetables like broccoli crowns, cabbage head and crisp lettuce. I was able to cook and serve steam broccoli  stuffed cabbage and fresh salads in our lunches and dinners.

My kids and I took some photoshoot at the back of our house yesterday. I think the past owner of our house planted these beautiful lilacs as the other neighbor didn’t bother cutting this side of the bush. Thank God for that. They smell awefull gorgeous! Today, we’re going to take it easy. We’re going to attend the Latin mass at St. Anthony’s in Cambridge Springs, PA and head to a park in Titusville, PA. I’d like to spend this special day in a simple and fun day for everyone. My leaps when I see everyone smiling, laughing and having fun. My husband already gave me a pot full of sunflowers yesterday and kissed me with Happy Mothers day greeting. My eldest son greeted me a happy mothers day and gave me a wooden sweetheart frame that he and his Dad built at Lowe’s build and grow yesterday. My youngest son gave me a kiss and I hugged him like I’m smelling fragrant lilacs. Smiles.
